TED-ED

TEDxUM has been instrumental in getting a TED-ED club started in Lafayette County. Lafayette Middle School started a TED-ED club the 2016-2017 school year. About twenty 7th and 8th grade students are involved. They watch TED talks, discuss what makes for good presentations, and will culminate the school year with their very own TEDx-like competition.

TEDWomen

TEDxUM hosted a live stream of the TEDWomen conference on Thursday, October 27. This provided an opportunity for the UM community to watch a live TED Conference as it was happening. We look forward to hosting TED Conference live streams whenever the opportunity is available to us.

Additional Activities

We are currently planning additional activities related to the investiture of the University of Mississippi’s Jeffrey M. Vitter. We are also working with prison officials in north Mississippi on a way to bring TED talks to Mississippi’s incarcerated population.
